Motivation vs. Discipline

A quick check of social media and you will read all about "motivation", sometimes even through cute hashtags like #motivationmonday. Every so often the word "dedication" pops up. Like a diamond in the rough. So what's the difference and why does it matter what word we use? 

Simply put motivation is the WHY, Dedication is the HOW.

Motivation will get you over the mountain. Motivation is the push you need to reach your goals. 

Dedication is your desire and fame plan to get over the mountain. Dedication is what you will do to reach your goals. 

Truth is, neither is more important than the other because motivation and dedication go hand in hand. Yes, you can have one without the other but that could be why you remain stagnant.
