By expressing your feelings instead of bottling them up, being willing to compromise, being more assertive and managing your time better, you have the power to lower the amount of stress in your life by altering the situations you are in. This can be very effect and can help you to feel happier and lose weight.
  4. Adapt to the stressor. If you can't change the stressor, you have the power to adapt to the situation and change your expectations. This can be done by viewing stressful situations from a more positive perspective, looking at the big picture, adjusting your standards, and focusing on the positives. 
  5. Accept the things you can't change. Some sources of stress are unavoidable, so by not trying to control the uncontrollable, looking for the upside, sharing your feelings, and learning to forgive, you can reduce the stress caused by the stressors that you can't avoid.
  6. Make time for fun and relaxation. Setting aside time for relaxation, connecting with others, doing something you enjoy every day and keeping your sense of humor not only make you happier, but also reduces the amount of stress you feel.
